Fund Aim

Dependent upon the performance of the FTSE® 100 Index, the Fund aims to provide a defined return at the possible early maturity dates or maturity date. The Fund also aims to provide some degree of protection against a fall in the FTSE® 100 Index unless the Index has fallen by more than 50% at maturity.

Investment term:   Up to 5 years (but may close early after 1, 2, 3 or 4 years)

Defined return:   Year 1 – early maturity return 6%; Year 2 – early maturity return 12%; Year 3 – early maturity return 18%; Year 4 – early maturity return 24%; Year 5 – maturity return 30%

Minimum investment:   £1,000 ICVC or £500 ISA


Underlying Index:   FTSE® 100 Index; a weighted Index, excluding dividends, of the 100 most highly capitalised companies traded on the London Stock Exchange e.g. Marks & Spencer, BT, Tesco

Initial index level:   The closing level of the FTSE® 100 Index on 27 August 2010 (the derivative investment date)

Early maturity index level:   For the possible early maturity date on 30 August 2011: the average of the closing level of the FTSE® 100 Index will be taken on each business day 10 days prior to and including early maturity date 30 August 2011.

For the possible early maturity date on 28 August 2012: the average of the closing level of the FTSE® 100 Index will be taken on each business day 10 days prior to and including early maturity date 28 August 2012.

For the possible early maturity date on 27 August 2013: the average of the closing level of the FTSE® 100 Index will be taken on each business day 10 days prior to and including early maturity date 27 August 2013.

For the possible early maturity date on 27 August 2014: the average of the closing level of the FTSE® 100 Index will be taken on each business day 10 days prior to and including early maturity date 27 August 2014.

Early maturity and maturity index growth level:   This is the defined return which applies if the relevant early maturity index growth level is reached on a possible early maturity date or which may apply at the maturity date.

Final index level:   This is the average of the closing level of the FTSE® 100 Index taken on each business day 10 days prior to and including the maturity date 27 August 2015 and it is  used to determine the maturity return.

Protection barrier:    50% of the initial index level

Counterparty:    Either one or more Barclays Bank PLC, Deutsche Bank AG and Royal Bank of Scotland plc

Tax treatment:   If invested outside an ISA, Capital Gains Tax is applicable during the growth potential period and Income Tax is applicable during the cash investment period (see Simplified Prospectus for details).
